Hi,
I bought my server with SBS 2003 preinstalled, they made
a partition on the hard disk creating a C drive with 12
GB where all the aplications are installed. Today I got
an alert saying that my C drive is low in space and that
may affect the performance of the machine. I already ran
the disk cleaner and try to remove all extra stuff on the
drive but I just have 520 Mb free. What can I do to fix
this problem. I was thinking that maybe the dbs on SQL
server 2000 are stored over there and are taking a lot of
space but I am not sure.
Thanks
Ozzy

Check out the whitepaper, also check the Volume Shadow Copy. It's enabled
on where the Users Shared Folder is located. If you like, first disable
the VSS there and then when you enable it again, you can move the copy to
D:.

Where are your Exchange databases/logs stored?
Where is userdata, etc.?

are you doing a daily Exchange aware backup? If not, you will have a ton of
5mb .log files in your c:\progrma files\exchsrvr\mdbdata folder

Hi,
Everything is on C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata
I checked the size of the mailboxes and it doesn't look
big so I don't know if that is the problem or the
databases that I have with sql server because they are on
C: drive also
Thanks

This was my issue and got the same warning as you did. I was doing a non
exchange aware backup, such as the NT backup that is configure manually. I
deleted the log files mentioned below and reconfigured the backup, which
solved the problem.

You should move your Exchange databases and logs to another volume. I'd just
do this manually if it were me...as per
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821915

In addition, make sure you're doing proper online Exchange aware backups
nightly.

How are you doing your backups? Using SBSBackup (which runs NTBackup)? A
third party backup program?
