I have a TS Member running 2003R2. The main server is SBS2003R2.

I have the TS Cals I need, but am a bit confused. Should I put the TS Cals
on the SBS box to act as the licensing server of is it ok to have the TS box
act as the licensing server too? There will be about 10-12 users.

TIA!

You can do it either way. MS suggests/recomends putting the licensing on
the SBS, but I have done it both ways.

One of the thoughts in this process may have to do with which server is more
likely to be there in the long run, or, perhaps, in MS land of having more
than one TS attached to one Licensing Server.

I believe the licensing server can be either the SBS or TS server. This
link says to use the TS server unless the SBS server was an upgrade from SBS
2000 with TS in Application mode enabled:

Deploying Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server to Host User Desktops
(See section 6)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sbs/2003/deploy/adstrmsr.mspx

Not sure if there's any advantages one way or another.

You can do it either way. But make sure your a/v software is configured to
exclude scanning the following folder and file:

Folder: C:\Windows\system32\lls
File: C:\Windows\system32\licstr.cpa

This looks like something else we need to add to AV exclusions Kev:

TS licensing folder location:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\LServer

Should contain the following TS related stuff:

edb.log
edb.chk
res1.log
res2.log
TLSLic.edb
temp.edb

For anyone who is wondering what else, and unless I have missed some, here

Treat the TS box as a big fat shared workstation you can reboot at will
without disrupting anything but the TS users - it shouldn't be doing
*anything* else. Your DC/SBS box is a more logical place to handle the
licensing.
