Branch office with SBS and a standard server

Is it possible and legal to install a SBS 2003 in the main office and a std.
Server2003 as DC in a branch office in the same AD-domain. Our costumer want
to have one domain so he can move users and their notebooks between the
branch offices with the same setup of drives and outlook connection.

Lars,

Yes, it is possible to do with SBS 2003 and a Windows 2003 Server at the
remote location (you could even make it a Replica DC to allow for local
authentication).. You should also define different subnets to be different
sites in the AD and place the server's into their respective sites. Here is
a link to a whitepaper discussing it with SBS 2000, but the same general
principals apply.. Keep in mind that the SBS server needs to have all the
FSMO roles.

A. There are no limits on the number or type of servers that can exist
in a Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain, with the following
exceptions:

. Only one computer in a domain can be running Windows Small
Business Server 2003.

. Windows Small Business Server 2003 must be the root of the
Active Directory forest.

. Windows Small Business Server 2003 cannot trust any other
domains.

. A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain cannot have any
child domains.

. Each additional computer running Windows Server 2003 must have
a Windows Small Business Server 2003 client access license (CAL).

. A Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain can have no more
than 75 CALs. You can use CALs for each user or for each device.
