Hey Everyone,

I've got a router at 192.168.1.1, and a Windows 2008 Server running
the the ADDC and DNS at 192.168.1.2. On the server's NIC, it is
configured to look at itself for the primary DNS field.

When performing an nslookup, it fails the first time, then I retry
immediately and it works. I think that I have some configuration
problem... Anybody have some suggestions?

Cheers,
John Weis

Posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

If you are running AD, all machines (including the DC itself) should use
the local DNS server (the DC in your case) for DNS. To resolve foreign URLs,
configure the local DNS server to forward to a public DNS service. Client
machines should not have the router IP or the DNS at your ISP, not even as a
secondary DNS address.
