Will adding an 802.11G WAP to my network (by plugging into 1 port on a
Gigabit switch) slow the whole network down?

Hi,

It won't slow the network down, but keep in mind that adding wireless
access may cause security issues.
If your PC is a part of a corporate network, wireless access could
damage the whole security policy.
For example, when you add wireless access to the internet you are able
to browse with no restrictions. This is something you need to discuss
with the administrator.
