unable to rdp into server after windows update

Hi all. I am unable to rdp into my server after doing manual windows update.
Upon windows update completion i would manually restart the server.
Previously if i just click on the restart button from the windows update
dialog box i would have this problem. All my other servers do not face this
problem except this particular server. All my servers are of win2003 standard
with sp2 and have the latest patches. Is there any setting i can do to
prevent this issue? Thks in advance.

I may be having the same problem. For me it is caused because the Server
never actually reboots when I click Restart from an RDP session. It starts
shutting down services like RDP & then stops restarting. I have go to the
physical machine & restart from there. Haven't found a solution yet other
than using shutdown /r from a command prompt.
