We have a windows 2008 print server hold 700+ printers , we would like to
add a security group to all printers and assign " manage documents " right
what is the best way to do this
Thanks
That is something I would like and I would like the group automatically added to
new printers whenever they get created.

There are 10 types of people, those that understand binary and those that don't.
Users who are members of the Power Users group or of the Print Operators
group cannot install the local printers on a server that is running Windows
Server 2008
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971222
the functionality will be setup for any newly created printers. For
existing printers you will need to run setprinter from the Windows Server
2003 resource kit. Follow the example for -show and level 3.
Once you have the existing printers set and the delegated administrators
configured, you will be set.

This KB does not describe how to "automatically" and a group to the permissions
of "all" printers. I work in a school and I do not want to make all teachers
Power Users on the servers. I do want to give them all permission to manage
print queues. I can do this for a single printer easily but remembering to do it
every time a new printer is added is a bit hit and miss. In Mr555's case
modifying the permission for 700+ printers will be rather time consuming.

A software development acronym for Quick Fix Engineering. This is the
Microsoft and Intel term for a hotfix
