I have been having a problem trying to validate my XHTML and even
getting Google Analytics up and running and it all boils down to 500
server error. When I try and validate the XHTML at http://validator.w3.org/
I get the following message:
" 1. Warning
I got the following unexpected response when trying to retrieve
<http://www.xxxxx.com/>:
500 Internal Server Error
If you made recent changes to your domain name (DNS)
configuration, you may also want to check that your domain records are
correct, or ask your hosting company to do so."
And when I checked the DNS entries at http://www.squish.net/dnscheck/
I get the following errors:
arning: Server A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET did not provide address of K.ROOT-
SERVERS.NET - using simple local resolve to fill in the missing
information.
Result: K.ROOT-SERVERS.NET is 193.0.14.129
Warning: Server A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET did not provide address of L.ROOT-
SERVERS.NET - using simple local resolve to fill in the missing
information.
Result: L.ROOT-SERVERS.NET is 199.7.83.42
Warning: Server A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET did not provide address of M.ROOT-
SERVERS.NET - using simple local resolve to fill in the missing
information.
Result: M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET is 202.12.27.33
50.0% of queries will end in failure at 158.43.129.77 (ns0-
m.dns.pipex.net) - returned REFUSED code
50.0% of queries will be returned by 158.43.129.65 (ns0-
a.dns.pipex.net)
I don't understand DNS, and I'm told that there is no problem by IT,
but I also get the same 500 error when trying to set up Analytics. I
also get a 50% packet loss when I ping the domain.
Is anyone able to shed further light on the messages above, or point
me in the right direction... If I'm unable to provide metrix on the
company website, it won't go down well at my performance review :(
Many thanks

><http://www.xxxxx.com/>:
You will need to tell us the domain name so we can do our own checks,
there are several reasons why this may happen, and not all are DNS
related.
