Search results are not being returned
I have a VB .net application that runs on one server that retrieves blocks of information from an AD LDS directory on Windows Server 2008 SP2 that freezes. There is a loop that controls what blocks to retrieve. I have added logging to my code to isolate the problem (see below) as well as on the AD LDS server. The process executes the FindAll command but the results are never returned. I can see an event log on the AD LDS with ID 1644 stating that entries are returned but the "processing result" log message is never written. AutoFlush was turned on for the LogWriter. Any suggestions on what could be causing this or on how to determine what is happening?... more »

NTP Setup with Win2k8R2 DCs running 2k3 AD.......
Hey all - I'm wondering if Microsoft has a 'Best Practices' document out there that I could use to properly setup NTP in my environment. I'm being told that people's times are off and a couple of my server's times are off (haven't seen this personally, so I'm a bit dubious here). If anyone can point me in the right... more »

Domain Migration Complete. Delete old Administrator ID?
Hello, I've completed a migration of a secondary domain into our primary domain. I essentially merged the two. I used the ADMT tool, and have successfully completed the migration. Everything is functioning well, and I have no problems. During an audit, the auditors identified the built-in Administrator account from the old domain, and wanted to know if we can get rid of it. During the migration we disabled the ID and renamed it to something other than "Administrator".... more »

Certificate for OWA Password Change over ISA Server
Hello NG, I want to use the OWA Password Change with Exchange 2007 over ISA Server 2006. I have got an AD integrated Server 2008 R2 PKI. The password change between ISA and the DC of my domain works over Secure LDAP. I need a certificate for the LDAP Server (Microsoft 2008R2 DC). What kind of certificate do I need? Is it a Domaincontroller certificate?... more »

net send error 2237
Hi, In the domain network of our work some users cant receive a net send message. Sender receive the error 2273. We use the net send with username instead of computername or IP because we need to do it. We solve some cases changing the logon name of these users on active directory, but I dont think this is a good solution.... more »

Domain Rename
Is it possible to rename a stand alone active directory Windows 2003R2 server using the rendom tool? I am coming in second hand but who ever set up this server has it running active directory for little to no reason. They named it abc.local.com so DNS is resolving to local.com, a real domain. I have tried the tool and I am getting a 1825 error... more »
