I am looking for the best way to migrate a Windows 2003 DFS root to
Windows 2008 DFS root.

Here is the environment.

Windows 2003 Domain and Mode(R2 Schema)
Windows 2003 DFS root(Non-R2) - Domain based namespace

I have looked at the file server migration tool kit by MS but that
appears to consolidate files servers into DFS. We already have a DFS
environment. The Domain will NOT be upgraded to Windows 2008. I would
like the DFS servers to be windows 2008 however and maintaing the same
domain namespace..i.e. \\domainname\share. After the migration I would
like to decommission the Windows 2003 DFS environment(remove from
Active Directory). Is this possible?
