Whilst generaly loving WMC there is a problem Id be very grateful for help
with. I cant see all my music. It's all stored on the same drive and I've
spent hours making sure the MP3 tags are all just right. Some of the albums,
but not all, are displayed. Also can anyone explain why album art is so hit
and miss. Some times windows gets it and sometimes it doesnt. Finally is
there a file that Windows creates as a database for all the albums you have.
I feel like deleting this and starting it again.
Any thoughs very welcome

Not sure, I precisely gets the problem, but here follows a few comments
nonetheless.
If not albums are displayed and they are in different folders, make sure in
Media Player that these folder are watched/monitored. Go to settings to see
if this is the case.
Don't think there is a file with the database info.
The album art is hit and miss, mainly because of the popularity and
known(ness) of the album. It never finds native artists other than
englishspeaking in my experience. Just search for the picture and put it in
the relevant album folder, named 'folder'.

Hope this helped a little, otherwise write again.

Thank you for this reply. Realy great to have someone helping. Yes i do have
a few more questions.
1 If i collect art what should I name it, as some directories have art that
is not displayed by media centre? In my experience it seems the art that meda
player downloads with file names like
AlbumArt_{421253A8-D282-49AB-878B-78D57B0F3AE7}_Large.jpg will display. Will
extensions like nameof group.jpg wont.

2 Where in setting is the setting to monitor folders?

3 I have all my albums in one directory and then each artist under another
directory. Yet sometimes it wont find the albums. Any ideas?

4 If i find when i look at media centre that some TAG info is wrong, I will
change it using MP3TAG but if i restart media centre and have a look at the
album again i notice the tag data still shows as unchanged. This is what
leads me to think there is a database file that needs a complete rebuild. Any
thoughts?

One again thanks for your help. Tim
