I would like to watch Internet tv in Windows Media Center but whenever I
attempt it I get a notice "Sorry Internet TV is not Available in Canada." I
live in New York State. My computer clock is set for EST time. I have no
idea why the media center thinks I am in Canada.

My OS is Vista, SP2.

Thank you.

Check the followings:-

1]Time zone
2]Regional and Language Options control panel
3]Language set into the Internet Languages option
4]If the above are OK then rerun the Media Center Setup using proper US Zip
Code.

Good evening S. Sengupta,

Thank for your assistance.

Everything in Regional and Language Options are as they should be. However,
I looked through the setup option in Media Center and nowhere did I see an
option for zip codes. The setup in Media Center which I came across
referred to the type of monitor, plug, etc. Will you please direct me to
the area to which you referred?

Thank you.

Open Windows Media Center > Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media
Center Setup > Run Setup Again. Follow on screen instructions and proceed
accordingly.

In my Vista version of WMC, unfortunately there is not a Zip Code selection.
There are 2 sections in WMC's setup:

1. Required Setup: WMC checks components like networking and internet
connections.
a. Privacy Statement
b. Help Improve WMC
c. Enhanced PLayback

2. Optional Setup
a. Optimize how WMC looks on your display
b. Setup your speakers
c. Setup your music, pictures and videos library

However, running the setup again, and again somehow got me out of Canada. I
now have 13 programs in internet tv instead.

Thank you again.

Does your MC system have a TV tuner installed?

No, it does not.

I was reading about a tv guide that is included in WMC. Should I have one
in my Vista version of WMC, or does the guide only exist in the Window 7
version?

MC provides a guide for all channels that have been configured in MC for the
TV tuners on a a system. No tuners no guide.

that are available
