Well, everything was working just fine...
until about 2 hours ago.. when I was making some more filters,
for filtering incoming emails... Using the FROM.
no-matter how much I try to copy and paste or type in into the from
box, have it applied to the inbox, its not working, all other 26 filtering
which are not FROM, work just fine.

example:
Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the From line contains 'fhscan...@franky-house.com'
Move it to the Franky House folder

So, what gives? since I copied this from the raw source of the email
this is also happing to 3 other filters that used FROM as the tigger.

Any one?
Major Thanks

Rich

You forgot the final action that every rule should be terminated with:
"Stop processing more rules."

Opps, Will try this asap...
and post back, since NONE of my other filters have Stop Processing More
Rules
after them, and work just fine.

Sorry, to say, if did not make a difference at all...

Apply this rule to currently downloaded messages
Where the From line contains '"Franky House"

<fhscan...@franky-house.com>'
Move it to the Franky House folder

and Stop processing more rules

You've run across a bug in the message rules when manually applied.

When Manually applying a mail Message Rule criteria Where From Contains
'X'.

A From header can be of two forms:

1) From: Name <e-mail address>
2) From: e-mail address

When Manually applied, the rule does NOT check the e-mail address in
form #1 within the < >.

It will match the e-mail address in form #2. And it will match if
checking for Name.

The rule works perfectly when automatically applied to incoming POP3
message. It will match on the e-mail address in the <>.

The bug just appears to be with the From header. Testing on the To and
Cc headers when Manually applying rules works fine.

Great, Well... lets hope MS, will address this issue,
knowing how long MS takes, it could be awhile.

Wondering what other neat bugs, are lurking in this Windows Live Mail app.

Maybe I should look at Thunderbird, since I do have over 610,000 emails.

I've reported the bug and its been escalated a few levels, but haven't
heard back on when it will be fixed.

The next release of WLM should be out later this year. Hopefully it
will be fixed then.

It wouldn't hurt for others to report the problem.

Will the next release involve any beta testing?

I expect so, but haven't heard anything definite. I would expect the
beta would be out some time this summer/fall with the released version
fall/winter.
