My questions are:
How does the moderator approve the post? Is there is
an "Approve" button?
Tx,
You can do it by editing the registry. This will affect all news messages
you post, so you might want to consider creating a new OE Identity for just
your moderated groups.
First close OE, then open regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\5.0\News
where {GUID} is the long number that is used internally for your Identity.
In the right-hand pane, you should see a DWORD value named "Moderator". If
it is not there, right-click a blank spot and create it. Then set the value
to 1 instead of 0.
Now re-open OE and start a New News Message. Click View|Full Headers and you
should see Approved has been added. It is not a normal field like the other
headers, and may display some strange characters, but it should display your
email address.
You can check the headers of this post and you'll notice an Approved: header
has been added.

Is there any way to preserve the original sender name in
the "from" field?

It's your choice since you're the moderator.

Forward the message to preserve the original sender's info.
Thanks.
