OE won't use IMAP sent/draft folders

"Store special folders on IMAP server". In the "Sent items path" I
have "Sent" (without the double quotes) and in the Drafts path I have
"Drafts". But when I send an email or save a draft, OE is putting
them into my "Sent Items" folder and "Drafts" folder, respectively
under Local Folders, i.e., locally. How do I convince OE to use the
settings in the account setup? I have several other accounts (all
POP3), if that matters.
Thanks for any help - this is driving me crazy because I can't think
of anything else to try. I read a message here with the exact
opposite problem - he can't **stop** OE from using the IMAP sent
folder, so it must be possible.

Using the Help menu of OE and typing in IMAP :-
To configure the path to your mailbox on an IMAP server
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
Select your IMAP server from the Accounts list.
Click Properties, and then click the IMAP tab.
Type the path in the Root Folder Path box.
The root folder path identifies the mailbox that contains your folders on the server. Do not end the root folder path with a hierarchy character. For example, ~username/Mail is a valid root folder path, but ~username/Mail/ is not. If you are not sure what to type, leave this box blank.
Note
If your IMAP server is a Cyrus server, your user folders must be contained in the Inbox folder. If your IMAP server is UNIX-based, your e-mail is usually stored in its own directory in your user home directory-for example: ~username/Mail.

I agree with Kath. The problem is due to the "root folder path" setting for
your IMAP mail account. Usually you will need to set it to Inbox. Please
refer to your IMAP provider about how to configure the settings.

Kath and Hover, thanks for both your replies. Setting the folder path
to "INBOX." solved the problem! The reason I didn't think of this is
that without it, OE was still able to show me my INBOX and all folders
underneath it. I was able to read content from all of them. Only
Sent and Drafts were causing me problems. On other clients, if I
didn't set that, some wouldn't show me anything, while others would
show me the subfolders but give me an error when I tried to open them.
I have spent two grueling weeks with little sleep trying to find a
decent IMAP client, with little success. I'm surprised that to see
such a sorry state with such a common application. I really like the
OE interface - been using it as a POP3 client for years. But I need
filtering because I'm on a lot of mailing lists.
I'm thinking of writing (probably borrowing from open source) a
standalone filtering daemon, and then staying with OE as my mail
client.
