IE 6 Crashes when opening extra windows

Lately and intermittently IE6 has been crashing
unexpectedly after lauching a new window or after a popup
has be launched. An error report is sent to MS and the
program ends. I can restart the program, and all runs
well until the next time albeit intermittently. This is
happening on two of my machines running Win XP home
edition. Any ideas?
