ie crashes after update - Address Bar drop down

I installed the latest patches from MS Tuesday or Wednesday. This morning
when I click on the the button to drop down the list from the Address Bar (to
use previous URLs) the IE dies.

I disabled all IE add-ins and the application still crashes when try to get
to the drop down for the Address Bar.

I appologize for not noticing the earlier posts about "KB 908531". I removed
it and the address bar works again.

However, when I removed "KB 908531" a dialog came up that said two other
security patches might not work correctly without "KB 908531".
Anybody what the happens to security after "KB 908531" is removed?

Thanks for the help, Ross. Since MS knows they screwed up big time, I am
assuming they will EVENTUALLY post a general solution rather than a REGEDIT
based fix. I reinstalled the critical updates and will use the history
button rather than the Address Bar until MS fixes the problem. As far as
typing in the Address Bar is concerned, I founds a work around by typing the
address in my Google Tool Bar.
