Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..

problem and needs to close..." only appears when I try to
gain access to a site that I pay a monthly fee for. It
doesn't do this for any other sites. I recently upgraded
to ver 6 from Explorer ver 5.5 and I never had the problem
before. The message says it is writing the error to a
file and gives me the option to send the file (I assume to
Microsoft). I've selected the send option multiple times,
but after a week or two I still haven't heard from
Microsoft. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm running
Explorer ver 6 with SP1, Q822925, Q330994, Q313829

There will then be an error box with a Details button. Need to know the XXXX caused a YYYY in module ZZZZ part. You can leave out the stack dump numbers. Also need to know the version of Windows the user is running.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions
If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

everything. When I turn off the 3rd party extensions,
Explorer will allow me to enter that paid site. But I took
your suggestiion and scanned my machine with AD-Aware scan
and removed everything it found, enabled the 3rd party
extensions again and it gives the the same error once
more. Any more suggestions? Thanks again and in advance.

Sometimes one will catch what the other misses. And make sure you use their web updater tools before scanning to get their latest definitions, as you would with your anti-virus program.
If no joy, in IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing section, uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions", click Apply, click Okay, reboot. If that solves your problem, then more troubleshooting is needed to find out exactly which program, or Browser Helper Object (BHO) is causing this problem. You don't want to leave it at that, as some BHOs are useful or necessary - like Adobe Acrobat for reading .pdf files or an essential component of Norton AV. Get BHODemon - http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm - read all about BHOs. Disable all items, and then gradually replace one or two at a time to narrow down the culprit.
