I was asking Cat last week if she knew of a net source for picture frames.... my only find was doing a picture search using the ALTAVISTA and LYCOS picture search facilities...
Today, I just realized...several FREEWARE programs let you make your own...<G>
Below is a screen shot from Z-PAINT, which recently has a new version that is, thankfully, 1024 by 768 screen size, instead of the old 640 by 480.
Version 1.4, released Jan 25, is at: http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/
As you see in the quicky screen capture beloww, you can also make plaques and buttons with it.....<G>
In the ZPAINT screenshot that follows, I used textures I had found or generated.
REPTILE (http://www.sausage.com/reptile)
and HARM'S TILE 99 (http://www.users.uswest.net/~sharman1/) are both FREEWARE.
They produce "seamless" backgrounds, such as the one I made and am using for this message.
In the samples below, I played with GOLD RIPPLE, MARBLE, BURLED, GLASS, etc. textures. In the BURLED WOOD at top right, you can see the effect of changing OPACITY and 3D contrast... By the way, in the SURFACE control window, you can click on the check box, and add a colour frm the colour wheel to the texture, for additional effects.
You can load in a Picture, select all of it, and by changint the OPACITY setting only, with no texture added, fade t for use as background for STATIONERY... or add the framing for extra effect...<G>
I do not use scripts yet - I am busy learning photo touchup and colourizing with my new scanner , which is why I wanted a source of frames...<G>, but I hope these ideas and program sources will help people express their creativity. The regular stationery links posted here will also lead you to sources of textures, clip art, finished products, and so on, and then the sky is the limit, coupled with your imagination!<G>
