Since I'm following this group anyway, what will be in Windows 8.1,
when will it be out, and how much will it cost to upgrade an existing
device from Windows 8?

Won't sleep/This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I'm having a problem with windows 7 professional. The problem has been happing for about a month and a half to two months. The computer did not want to sleep, now it goes to sleep but does not want to wake up. Before the problem it would sleep and wake up ready to go after messing with the mouse. Now I mess with the mouse and it starts to reboot and gets to the starting from cd/dvd and then just goes into lala land. The curser stays at the top blinking and I have nothing but black screen. I have to restart in order to start working again. Now I shutdown each time I'm done, even if that means I need to be back on line in an hour or so.... more »

I've got a 64 bit Widows 7 machine that I've installed 32gb memory
cards on. All alike. When I check the System information it shows
that only 16gb is usable. Anyone know why or how to correct this?

Touchscreen does not draw

I own an HP TouchSmart 610 PC with Windows 7 installed. In Paint, Photoshop, Acrobat, or any other program, I cannot use my finger to handwrite. When I select the pencil tool, I am able to use my mouse to draw stick figures. However, I cannot use my finger to do so on the touchscreen. My finger will scroll the screen, never draw. Win7 Pro keyboard misbehavior

Does anyone know why my keyboard suddenly starts typing strange characters after some time has lapsed since bootup?
The subject machine is an Acer TravelMate laptop, model TimelineX 8372T-6453. The characters seem to be those colored the same as th 'Fn' key.

Windows 7 crashes frequently for no apparent reason

I am using Windows 7 64-bit on a fairly new HP laptop. Initially things seemed okay but lately Windows gives me the blue screen of death daily, including every single time I lock the screen. I can have our tech support people re-install Windows 7 but I don't want to do that because as a software developer working with PeopleSoft among other things, the last time I had a new OS, it took me about four days to get everything re-installed again and working. Short of that, is there any way I can determine why I keep having Windows crashing because it "encountered an unexpected error"? Thanks.... more »
