Configuration:

Target:
desktop PC, WinXP free build, AMD Athlon 64
1394 PCI adapter card (Manufacturer NEC)
6-pin connector

Host:
Notebook, WinXP free build,AMD Turion 64
in-built 1394
4-pin connector

That's how I hooked up the two systems.

* But, Windows on the desktop, in debug mode, hangs soon after boot-
up. While Windbg shows no sign of connecting to the target, and waits
forever.
* Windows runs fine in normal mode (non-debug) with the adapter as it
is.
* I've tried connecting with the PCI host controller disabled on the
target, but in vain.
* I found the 1394 connection has an IP address associated with it on
both systems. Tried pinging each other, it failed.

Has anyone faced a similar problem? Please post.

One ore thing....

The target Windows(when booted in debug mode) hangs even if the cable
isn't connected.

I reinstalled Windows, and now it doesn't hang in the debug mode.
But Windbg is still stuck on 'waiting to reconnect...'.
Is there a way to test if my 1394 connection is working?
