Every time I use Explorer any more all of the directories (above Windows) on
my C drive
are collapsed and C:\Windows\Start Menu is hi-lighted. I use Explorer quite
a bit and it is
really frustrating to have to scroll all of the way back up to C:\ to expand
the other dirs.

I don't know exactly when or how it happened.............only that it wasn't
always this way, but
try as I might I can't figure out how to get Explorer to open with the
cursor at the top of the
directory tree. At this point it really wouldn't matter whether the
directories were collapsed or
expanded because it would only be a click away.

Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch,

How are you opening Explorer? Are you clicking a shortcut on the Desktop, or on the Start menu?
Right-click whatever shortcut you are using and click Properties from the menu that appears. On the Shortcut tab, modify the Target line to open as you want it.

To open at C: and expanded, this should be in the target line:
C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,C:\
