Reinstalled DUN
Deleted *.pwl files, on all drives
Checked Client for Microsoft Networds installed
Checked the registry for DisablePasswordCaching=0
Deleted binary reference in the registry for Autologon
I've done it all and it still doesn't save the password, help!
Except, there's one difference. I thought I read that the AutoLogon key
should have a binary value of "01 00 00 00 00 00".
If anyone has information on this, please e-mail me too. Thanks!

try disabling user profiles then logon with a blank password
then set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Policies\Network
to 0 but instead of a string values of 0 set it to a DWORD value of 0 (Dec).
you may have to delete DisablePwdCaching and recrreate it a a DWORD value.
It worked for me.

Hallelujah,
Ron,
Persistence always pays off in this game - eventually.
I tried the instructions you gave me but I was not getting a logon screen
but then I never do as I am a stand alone user, ie not on a network and
normally don't worry about logging on as a "User". So I set about creating
"users" but it was clear I was not being permitted to create passwords for
them or they were being ignored. Ie I could log on with any password I
liked.
I re-read the suggested articles and a few more on MSKB and discovered that
I made a mistake when setting up the Registry Key "DisablePwdCaching" with a
value of "0" as specified in "Dial-Up Networking Password Is Not Saved" KB
article.
Elsewhere, I read that you must set the "0" value using DWORD. As soon as
I did this PWs are caching like a dream!
Thanks for prompting me to have another go at this - I had all but given it
away as a bad joke! I hope this helps others on the newsgroup with the same
problem. Use DWORD!!
