I have the same problem as Jame King. My CD drive appears to work ok
with data. But I can't play music CDs. And yes, there is audio coming
out directly from the front panel of the CD drive.

I've tried removing DirectX 5.0 drivers as this was rumored to be one
possible area. But I can't still resolve the problem.

Win95 also doesn't want to recognise my CinaAction MPEG card. It just
doesn't so I can't play video CDs as well.

Most multimedia games are ok.

Hi Jose,

You didn't mention if you've checked the cable running from the CD-ROM drive
to the sound card. A loose connection or faulty cable can lead to audio CD
problems, such as no sound being heard.

Let me know if this isn't the problem.

As for your CinaAction MPEG card, could you tell me which model it is?

I came across the following page, which may help you to find a Windows 95
driver. You'll need to read the replies at the bottom of the page:

All the best!
