Hi

Is there anyway to detect the event when pressing desktop or notebook power
key ?

Is there anyway to detect the event when closing notebook upper case ?

Thank you

From kernel mode or user mode?

Also, is just knowing that a power event is happening enough or do you
really need to distinguish between lid close and button push? And what about
external input devices with power buttons (i.e. remote controls)?

If you tell us what you're really trying to do you might get a better
answer.

S power IRP.

These buttons can be reassigned in the control panel, and I think it is not a good idea to meddle with these assignments.
