Hi all, do someone know something about FAT corruption in WinCe 5.0? I've
developed an application that writes and delete files in a Nor Flash. The
flash is partitioned and only the partition where the application
writes/deletes files has this problem. The application runs fine but
sometime the flash gets corrupted. In the FAT File SystemRegistry
AutoFormat=1.
Thanks all!

If AutoFormat=1, the corrupted partition will be formatted. This is a problem
for me because in the Nor Flash partition there are the application
configuration files. So, when the application restrats it doesn't find these
files. I would like to know if it is possible to avoid the flash corruption.
Thanks in advance!

Are you the device OEM, or are you just writing an application for a device
that you purchase?

Hi,
We are experiencing similar trouble with the FAT filesystem.
We are going to do some extensive automated testing on this.
(write continuously , switch off, switch on, check + log(offsystem), if
error : fix it , etc.....)

The theory at this time is that corruption only occurs when the power is
switched off during disk writes. Could that be the case in your situation ???
(when "sometimes" occurs)

- 1 of the plans is to switch to TFAT, although we're not sure if this will
fix it in all cases.
- Will scandisk always fix such a corruption ?
- There are some disk options (writethrough, autoformat, autoscan) we need
to investigate.
- Is the problem always limited to the file written, or the folder its in ?
, or not ?

Any thoughts or experiences on this are welcome.

Kind Regards,
Rob
