dear all ,

it is the first time to subscribe in a news group .
I need to develop a visual basic 6 program that can capture an image as
BMP from a TV Tuner . I do not know how . I hope that this does not
need to use costy third party tools .

There is not much VB6 support in DirectShow (or VB.NET).

Check out the site http://www.gdcl.co.uk for a sample of how to use VB to
get poster frames.

If you are targetting Windows XP and higher then you could use the MS Video
Control (msvidctl.dll). Using this will make tuning the device, viewing
the TV image and capturing a still of the current frame much simpler.
There is VB specific documentation in the DirectShow SDK documentation
(this is now part of the extras download for the latest DirectX SDK).
