Would it be ok to install the Win XP Pro RDP client on a
2000 server to i can terminal serve into the server over
the net, then remote desktop to each machine for remote
admin?

Can anyone see any issues here?

I know i could enable remote control on all clients and
go direct but then i would have to open ports for each
and remember these etc etc.

You should not have any issues. The XP Remote Desktop
client isn't only for Windows XP computers. The names may
be the same, but that is all.

Because you are running a remote session inside a remote
session the performance won't be very good, but it'll work
nonetheless.

Thanks again Matthew,

I come into to the server with DSL at both ends, little
laggy but not too bad.

The link from the server to the client PC's is 100mb so i
think the lag on that step should be negliable compared
to the DSL, will proably be same as TS session on the
Server.

As Matthew said this should work

I don't understand where the win is though. They use the same port, 3389 in
all cases, so if you are opening up 3389 access so you can get to the W2K
server, you should be able to use that same access to go right to the
client.
