Recovering data from Hard Drive

When I boot up, the PC gives me the message "non system disk or disk
error...press any key."

The problem is that I need the data's that on the hard disk.

I tried putting the Windows 2000 CD when booting up to go to the recovery
console but I see the message "Disk I/O Error 00008000" and cannot get to the
recovery console since it says no hard disk is detected.

I also tried various recovery software like Easy Recovery Pro, Nucleus
Kernel for FAT and NTFS, etc. but it did not even detect the hard disk or
some would say it does not recognize the file system.

I then contacted my vendor for support but they say nothing could be done on
their side to help me recover my data.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Download and run the diagnostic tool that your disk manufacturer
makes available on his home site. This will tell you if the disk is
readable. If it is unreadable then you will have to ask a data
recovery service to examine your disk. This could be an expensive
option. It may be an unpleasant reminder that you must back up
all important files to an independent medium at regular intervals,
e.g. once a week.

It may happen some of your valuable system files are erased. You can
try bringing them back with Uneraser(for DOS). This is a really
powerful utility that is capable of restoring erased data, that never
failed me before.
