Adding W2000AS to existing NT4 setup

Hi,

I have to place a W2000AS + Exc Srv to an existing NT4 server bsed system.

It has to be this was because the client runs software on the NT4 which is
mission critical to him. The authors of this software are not ready to go to
2000 yet, so in order to provide mail, i have to use a new box.

Are there any things I need to know?

Main thought - how will user authentication work - do i create new copies of
user names etc on the 2000 box or will they be visible because of the NT
box. If so, how will mail boxes be created (integral part of 2000 users)

Perhaps i'm missing the point?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
