Hi,

I have a visio 2003 file that will not reopen. There were no obvious issues
on save.

If anyone can help, please do so. Thankyou,

Michael

Do you know whether the file was last saved in Visio 2003 or a previous
version of Visio? If you saved from Visio 2003, did you tell Visio to save
the document in the Visio 2000/2002 format?

If you have not downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 for Visio 2003, you
should do so. There is an important bug fix in that release that can
prevent one common scenario where files can no longer be opened.
Unfortunately, it does not help you open a file that is already un-openable.

Hi Mark,

thanks for your help. THe file was saved in Visio 2003 using the file save
command. It was not saved in a previous format. I have downloaded the service
pack now. The file was created on a machine that I need to check to see if
the srevice pack was on it. It is possible that the service pack may not have
been applied.

The problematic file was created on a machine without service pack 2
installed. Is there any possiblity that this file may still be recovered?

Unfortunately no. The service pack prevents future problems only.
