.VHD read only?

saving versions?? 
  Im confused about saving versions of the virtual comptuer. Im testing out some backups and restores. So basically I want one machine that is the Basic install of server2003 with all the updates. then I want to restore several restores of our servers to this virutal machine as test of our recovery processes.... more »

Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 BSOD STOP 0x0000007E 
  Hi Guys/Girls I'm having a problem with my clean install of Hyper-V Server 2008 R2. Once i enable the 2 options in the BIOS for virtulisation i get a bsod with STOP 0x0000007E error message. The server is an HP DL360 G5. I have found the KB article 974598, and i tried installing this hotfix on the server but is says it not applicable for this machine.... more »

USB Passthrough 
  I believe there is a piece missing in the overall design and implementation of USB Passthrough support... A feature avalilable in Windows 7/Windows Virtual PC (WVPC) and not in W2K8/Hyper-V. And the reason it should be in Hyper-V? Hyper-V is the solution for x64 operating systems; host and DESKTOP.... more »

InputVSC driver on kernel 2.6.32 
  Hello group, I am running the Linux kernel 2.6.32-7 and using the GPL Hyper-V drivers (hv_vmbus, hv_storvsc, hv_netvsc, hv_blkvsc). The only thing that is not working is the mouse integration. Is there a version of InputVSC (Citrix Project Satori) that is compatible with these GPL Linux integration components?... more »

Integration Services Setup CD is "blank" when used on Fedora 11 
  I have set up a Fedora Core 11 VM on Hyper-V. After the Fedora installation is complete, you reboot the system and it walks you through a setup porcess and then dumps you out into the standard desktop. 2 servers with T1 point to point connection 
  I have 2 identical servers that will be at 2 locations connected with a T1 point to point. I am trying to figure out my best option. Virtual Serevr R2 guest no network ? 
  I just installed VS2005R2 and installed q windows 2008 as guest OS. configured the network connections - virtual networks etc and all seem fine. the problem is that i cannot ping outside of the guest os, not event the GW ! whereas the GW is accessible from outside. i have been told that the switch port is using protection mode ot accept... more »
