Cannot Login

This started happening all of a sudden with my Virtual
Machine. I don't think I changed anything on the host
machine, and the VPC I have set not to save changes to
the HD. When I try to login a box pops up that
says "Logon Message:

Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the
domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or
because your computer account was not found. Please try
again later. If this message continues to appear,
contact your system administrator for assistance.

Unfortunately, I am my system administrator. For
networking I have it set to the NIC for my computer, and
that hasn't changed. I've tried uninstalling and
reinstalling, to no avail. I'm currently trying to build
a new VPC. When I switch to "shared networking" I can
get in, but it says there's a duplicate computer on the
network. I tried deleting the computer from AD, but I
get the same errors.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried logging in to the VPC as a local administrator then joining
the domain again...?

This is the problem. Domain members change machine account passwords
automatically. If you keep dumping the changes in the VPC, you're going
to eventually dump the changed account password. The next time you try
to log in, the VPC will have the old password while the domain
controller is expecting the new one.

Either stop doing this, or search the MS KB for DisablePasswordChange
and RefusePasswordChange.

I guess that's it ... though is there any way now to make
it log in again? I've tried adding that key as a local
admin, but I still can't login to the domain.

Oh. I removed it from the domain then rejoined it to the
domain and it appears to now work fine. Thanks for your
help!
