DCOM Hangs

I'm trying to expand the DCOM Config node in the DCOMCNFG program.
However, everytime I try to expand, the program seems to hang (it does
not show any entries). The CPU usage goes up to 100%, and after about
30 minutes the program crashes with the usual program error (mmc.exe
has terminated, do you want to send details etc etc)

Does anyone know if this is a known bug, and if there are any work
arounds?

Thanks

Please let me know if you find a fix for this. I have an IIS based
application server with the exact same problem. I can't see DCOM config
components.

I've tried the local admin, the domain admin and a normal user in the local
administrators group.

I've tried AT 15:00 /interactive c:\windows\system32\dcomcnfg.exe to run it
as system.

I've tried re-applying Administrator permissions to every registry key.

I've exported AppID, CLSID and Identity from HCLM & HCR from another server
running the same software and importing those entries into the broken server.

I've un-installed Distributed COM and added it back.

I've reapplied Service Pack 2.

One of the next things is to try a Repair-Install-Over and see if that fixes
it. (using the second Repair option during a boot from CD install, not the
first Repair option).

Anybody else have any ideas?
