GetClassLong always fails in when access app using Remote Desktop client

Hi All,
I have an application where I need to take icons of window using GetClassLong which works OK.
But when ever I try to access the same application using Remote desktop client (RDP client) this function fails every time.
Can you please let me know the reason for this and if possible can you please let me know the solution for this ?
