  I found that the sample code I was looking at was bad code. &lt;br&gt; Other code samples I located later agrees with you. &lt;br&gt; The SetTimer generates the unique id. &lt;br&gt; Thanks.

  Never mind. I finally read the help (for the 10th time) and saw that &lt;br&gt; the Before and After refer to the Key parameter, not the item data &lt;br&gt; itself. I was hoping that it would look up the item and do the right &lt;br&gt; thing. &lt;br&gt; Adding the key will double the size of the collection, which can run to &lt;br&gt; over a million items already.
