I'm trying to compile my VB6 project into an EXE which I've done many times
before but I get this error now...

System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified error

Any ideas what it means?

Only possible to provide an unspecific answer. <g>

One of your components, or something they need, has come up missing. ie, the
Registry might be correct enough for the App to pass a syntax-check, but
come compiletime either the wrong component is getting loaded or other
information it needs has gone south.

Generic, unspecified, advice, is to clean-up your project. Delete all temp
files, OCAs, obselete components, etc. Check-out your Reference list to make
sure you are referencing current components. Run a Registery Cleaner. And
rebuild the app.

You might want to download Process Monitor
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) and see
where the compile is bombing out.

Thanks Ralph... I was thinking along those lines so after posting here, I
started rebuilding my app and found a form referencing an OCX from a
previous version of a CAD viewer. Once I started loading form by form... I
found the culprit. Thanks!

Sorry, I see this is a reply to an old post (I don't see the thread here).

Why are you replying to 5 years old thread?

[Edit: Should have noted that having a 'wrong' version can show the
same behavior as a missing dependent component or incorrect
Registration - eg, Survive a compile-time check but fail durng
execution with an odd error.]

I'm only posting this since it might be possible that Jamukutty can't
see mine or Scott's replies.

Ah yes, a developer who suffers from the same 'it don't wok' syndrome that
most end users suffer from.

You're just so specific, bub...I can't stand it.
