Hello,

(Please do not point me to Article 228487 or 170364, becuase I already went
through them.)

I have the following problem:

-I start VB 6 (SP6 with Windows 2000 SP4);
-I choose to create a new "ActiveX DLL";
-I create a
Sub Test()
End Sub
- Press F5 to Run
- In "Project Properties - Debugging" I select "Wait for components to be
created" - (The problem happens with all the options anyway)
- I press OK
- Then I have the error "System Error &H80004015 (-2147467243).

I've checked the MSDN articles 228487 and 17036:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;228487
and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/170364/EN-US/

but it doesn't help me.

I have my registry ok, just as it should be:
I have Explorer.exe in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Shell=

What can I do?

I cannot run or debug Active DLLs !

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Ralph

I can understand your fustration, but you really shouldn't multipost. Use
Cross-posting instead.

However, this situation is so bizarre I doubt you will find anyone with a
simple solution. (While sincerely hoping for your sake I'm wrong. <g>)

I think you need to perform an indepth registry cleaning, and a re-install
of VB.

Placing more that one newsgroup within the To: address separated by
semicolons. However, I appreciate that this feature is not supported by some
web news readers.

The real problem with multi-posting is it tends to put off some people from
replying if they noticed your multi-posted, since there is no way from them
to know whether you already received an answer someplace else. Or annoys
them when they go to any effort to research and reply only to discover that
you already got an answer or supplied additional useful information
somewhere else.

It also helps others in the futue for if they are browsing for a problem
similar to yours, they can view all replies in one place rather than having
to check each thread separately.

With shrinking usuage your best bet for prompt answers concerning the VB IDE
is the "microsoft.public.vb.general.discussion" newsgroup.

PS: Did you get a better solution elsewhere yet?

IMHO you should just go ahead and re-install VB.

What OS are you using? Is this Vista?

Oops!

Forget that. I just remember you said Windows 2000.
