SQL SERVER SET-UP CHALLENGES

Hi Everyone,

I'm attempting to install SQL Server 2008 Express on my laptop,
running on Windows 7. However, when I attempt installing .NET
Framework and Windows Installer, I get the error message that the
software does not apply to my system. Any thoughts, comments, tips on
how to go about having this installed please? I had to purchase a
brand new laptop solely for this reason as I was unable to have it
installed on Vista.

Your responses would be highly appreciated.

You should always include the full error message. That helps.

But I don't think you need to install .Net Fx or Windows Installer on Win7,
as the required software is included in Win7. I installed SQL 2008 on a
new Windows 7 machine last week, and I did not have to install any of
them.
