Hi,
I am asked to produce a report on who has accessed a particular database on an SQL server 2008 R2. The system (a third party with no internal auditing) uses SQL authentication. Logging on the server is set to record failed and successful login attempts. Any one got any ideas on how I can do this report?... more »

How to find pending subscriber changes on replicated transactions

Hi I have a SQL Transactional replication module and I have an ETL process which pauses the distribution agent from the publisher to the Subscriber when its running (on the distribution database) and resumes the distribution agent when its done. The process is set to run each hour and I want to make sure the job only starts when the distribution agent has pushed all pending transactions since its last start. Currently the the job at times finishes 50 minutes by the hour and only lets 10 minutes or so for the distribution agent to catch up and at times its killed before it finishes the synch before the next start. This is snowballing into causing replication to not catch up and causing delays in the whole process..... more »

Hello,
In my report can anyone tell me how I can just display the last line which is a Total line and not display all the queried lines?
In other words, I have a bunch of numbers that I sum at the bottom of each column but how do I just display the sums and not all the queried items?

We have some sql databases that we have always used access as the
front end and have a lot of queries that work fine.
Now they have decided to convert all this to just sql with no front
end.
I have never tried to convert access queries to sql.

"select" query blocking "alter index rebuild online"?

we have a process that rebuilds indexes using "alter index rebuild online". however if there is an existing select query running, it blocks the alter index. why is this happening even though we are using the online option?
