Hi,

I have a vista PC with IIS installed and SQL Express with advanced services.

I have installed the reporting services and have been able to access the web
site and ensure that its all working.

On loading visual studio 2008, I create a repot. I am able to create the
report and test it, and its all fine.

When I go to publish the report, it always has a popup that requests my user
id and password. No matter what I enter it always fails and end up asking
again for my userid/pwd over and over.

I am logged into the Vista PC as an Administrator so not sure why this is
happening... I just want to be able to easily deploy my reports from visual
studio.

Any ideas on whats happening ????

Thanks

Vista and Windows 7 both have additional security. It doesn't matter that
you are logged in as administrator, if you don't run a program with enhanced
rights (run as administrator or something like that) then you run with
limited rights. On Windows 7 I had the issue with using IE to connect to RS
on the same box. I got around it by opening up IE with enhanced rights. I
bet if you do this with VS then you will be OK.

Hi,

I took your advice, and loaded up visual studio, by selecting the option
'Run as Administrator', but it still asks me for a user id/pwd combo when I
try to deploy.

Any other tips or tricks to try ???

Make sure that you don't have anonymous turned on with IIS.
