Environment:
-- Quad-dual 64-bit processors
-- 32 GB RAM
-- AS2005 Enterprise x64, SP2
-- Windows 2003 Enterprise x64, XP3
-- 3 cubes each with 22 very large partitions and approx 7 dimensions per
cube. (Each cube partition is built from an underlying fact table with 1B to
3B rows.)

Problem:
-- Running PerfMon, the system is ALWAYS paging (14K - 18K pages/sec).
-- msmdsrv.exe us using about 5 GB RAM.

Question:
-- How do I make AS2005 use more memory? What sorts of things can I tell
AS2005 to keep in memory? How would I decide, from those choices, which
would be most effective?

I know that the answer is probably more like a book than an answer to a
post, but any advice, leads, references would be welcome. I did read the
Microsoft AS2005 Performance Guide, but nothing I tried seem to substantially
change things.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Keith,

look at this document (page 91 ff)
http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/5/e/85eea4fa-b3bb-4426-97d0-7f7151b2011c/SSAS2005PerfGuide.doc

In SSAS 2008 (don't have a 2005-system by hand)
Connect with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) to Your SSAS.
Look at the preferences (rightclick on registration).

Okidoki
good look
