dedicated server for OLAP/analysis services

Hi
I'm currently planing to migrate analysis services from our production SQL
Server, to a dedicated server installation. Has anyone any experience in
running analysis services /OLAP in a virtual machine. Is this something that
will work, or is it not a recommended solution?

I wouldn't reccomend it, personally.. I don't think that virtual machines
should be anywhere near databases servers, because SQL is better at memory
management than twelve tiers of extra software.

I'd much rather have one server instance with 128gb ram than 10 machines
with 2gb ram... but it depends on the workload, I guess.
I used to work on a bunch of cubes that took _MONTHS_ to process. Lol.. No,
it wasn't my design.
