Trying to install SQL2K8 Failover Cluster on 2 Node Server 2K8R2 Cluster
fails in section "Instance Configuration" with the following message:

------------------------------
The given network name is unusable because there was a failure trying to
determine if the network name is valid for use by the clustered SQL instance
due to the following error: 'The network address is invalid'
------------------------------

Any suggestions?

/Andreas

Are you using a patched installer?

You need to either run any CU or SP for SQL 2008 or slipstream the SP into
the install. SQL 2008 clusters need the install patched to run on SQL
2008R2.
