Is it possible to use recorded voice input for someone who has set up a
profile already. We would like to use digital recorders on the road, then
input into speech recognition.

I think this may be what you want, "Using Wav File Input with Speech
Recognition Engines".
You can find it from the document installed with SAPI, under the
catalog "White Papers".
