Hi

I would guess you have MS04-025/867801 approved (July 2004 Cumulative
Security Update for IE). You need to unapprove all previous cumulative
IE updates (see list further below).

The current SUS version does not handle this for you, so I strongly
suggest that you follow up on this for each new update you approve.

Fortunately, in the later Security Bulletins for the security updates,
Microsoft lists what update(s) is/are superseded, look for "Security
Update Replacement" under the Summary part (at the top).

Here is an example for this:

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-025
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (867801)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS04-025.mspx

It states that MS04-004 is replaced by MS04-025. If you then open
the MS04-004 link there, it will then you that MS04-004 replaces
MS03-048, then opening the MS03-048, it will tell you that MS03-048
replaces MS03-040 (but then this supersede linking stops in the
security bulletins, see further down for a more complete IE patch
superseding list).

A quick way to find the Security Bulletin for a new update you are
to approve is to fill in the KB number for the update behind the
equal sign it this URL:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=

e.g. like this for KB867801:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=867801

MS04-025/867801 (July 2004 Cumulative Security Update for IE)
supersedes the following (and any earlier) cumulative patches for IE:

824145 MS03-048: November 2003 Cumulative Security Update for IE

822925 MS03-032: August 2003 Cumulative Patch for IE
818529 MS03-020: June, 2003, Cumulative Patch for IE
813489 MS03-015: April, 2003, Cumulative Patch for IE
