I currently have a 2003 Server running WSUS 2.0. I've recently built from scratch a new server with WSUS 3.0 and downloaded all the needed updates for our operating systems. My plan is to simply change the wsus server name in group policy and have the client computers point to the new server. As far as I can tell this should be fine ... should I be concerned about anything????? My impression is that the most I might have to do is run a [resetauthorization] on the clients.

Basically, I'm not migrating the database, or anything for that matter, from the old server.

We are going through the same process.
Not sure whether you have to delete everything out of the new WSUS box first before moving the clients across as they were previously reporting to the other WSUS box - more reading needed! - I'll let you know.
