ITMU is not listing some of the KB articles

Hi all,

In SMS 2003 software updates list some of the KB articles are not listed
which are given below
KB936357
KB938828
KB927891
KB930916
KB922582
KB916595
KB910437
KB894391
KB886185
KB936227
KB890261
We didnt find any reason behind this. All the other patches are
listing and working fine and we do apply these patches to all the client
machines but not the patches in the above list. We checked the same in our
branch offices, they too get the same problem. I have spent lot of time for
this but didnt find any solution. If anyone knows about this issue, help me.

Hi,

Check what MS number the KB number relates to, what you will probably find
as i have before is that the KB numbers have different MS xxx-xxx numbers in
SMS inventory or in this case
KB936357 A microcode reliability update is available that improves the
reliability of systems that use Intel processors and is not a SMS updates per
se, therefore you will not find it when you run the install updates wizard.

You will have to package this yourself and install it that way.

Thanks for the reply. Let me know how to package those kb articles
into our sms server. It will help me a lot

Hi,

just add the hotfixes as you would add a normal package, right click on
packages, create new package , add the files as per normal,create program,run
switches required in command line, distribute,create advertisement to run
program on targeted collection.

A hotfix can be run as a normal SMS package and job etc.
