Currently we are using 2 patch bundles for our patch management solution;
1) Sustained bundle with all patches post winxp sp2 (1.4Gb)
2) monthly patch bundle, which we will migrate into our sustained bundle at
month's end.

Question what is the best way to remove superceded patch from sustained
bundle?

HELP!

What we do here is create a monthly patch job each time and advertise those,
its more manageable and runs quicker than if you try and keep them all in one
package. Its also a lot better if you have WAN links or user's on a piece of
string :)

Alternatively when you are creating your "large job" remove them from the
actual list in SMS when using the wizard, and then manually remove them from
the created package.Dont distribute it until after you have done this.

This is the only way i have found to do this.

Hello all,

A piece of knowledge once shared with me was to unauthorize superceded
patches but do not delete them from the package or worry about uninstalling
from clients. Yes, this continues to build the package size; however you can
restart the package after each service pack.

just a thought.
cheers,
D
