Hey all,

First time being able to use the TechNet newsgroups. :) We are currently
looking to upgrade SMS 2003 to Configuration Manager Server. For the upgrade,
it advised us that we need to turn off SQL Authentication and have it be
Windows Only. Our problem is that we have a 3rd party application that hard
codes a DB login ID and password and allows non-SMS users to view information
for computers. This 3rd party tool is used heavily by our technicians. If we
turn off the SQL Authentication, the tool will no longer work.

Can we turn the SQL authentication off for the upgrade and then switch it
back to allow SQL Auth and Windows?

Yes... I used mixed mode all the time.. you may need to "play" with the
premissions to ensure that you application will still work but there is
nothign stop you from have SQL in mixed mode.
